La Mostra ARTIGIANATO E PALAZZO botteghe artigiane e loro committenze è nata nel 1995, da un’idea di Neri Torrigiani e promossa dalla principessa Giorgiana Corsini, principalmente per rivalutare e rinquadrare ai giorni nostri la figura dell’artigiano e del suo lavoro, considerandolo alta espressione di qualità e di tecnica, legato sì alla committenza, ma insistendo sull’idea di un artigianato per sua natura “moderno”, senza con questo dimenticare l’elemento fondamentale della tradizione.

ARTIGIANATO E PALAZZO DELIVERS THE FUNDS RAISED

WITH THE CAMPAIGN “MEMORIES OF RUSSIA IN FLORENCE

 

FLORENCE 16. 10.19 Giorgiana Corsini e Neri Torrigiani delivered today, during a ceremony in Palazzo Vecchio with Cristina Giachi, vice Mayor of the City of Florence, the funds raised with the campaign“MEMORIES OF RUSSIA IN FLORENCE”, promoted for the 25th edition of ARTIGIANATO E PALAZZO. The campaign has been dedicated to the restoration and conservation of some extraordinary works of art, that testify to the cultural bond between Florence and the Russian community which, in the course of the 19th and early 20th century, embellished the city with residences, churches and important art collections.

The fundraising collected 40.000 euros:

31.000 euro has been donated to the president of the Association Amici degli Allori, Grazia Gobbi Sica, to start urgent restoration works of the Hemicycle of the Evangelical Cemetery agli Allori, a cemetery of six Florentine Evangelical Churches which ever since its foundation has welcomed the dead of all religions, including many leading figures of the Russian community.

5.000 euros has been donated to the Church of the Nativity of Christ and Saint Nicholas the Thaumaturge.

A contribution of 4.000 euros has been assigned to the Stibbert Museum to start the conservation works of the Demidoff Collection exhibited in the museum.
