Three days dedicated to craftsmanship
The 32nd edition of Artigianato e Palazzo is centered on a reflection on the need to “Reconnect with Nature,” a foundational principle that gives rise to creative processes, artisanal practices, and design research.
The exhibition, scheduled for September 11–13 at the Giardino Corsini in Florence, brings together a new selection of 100 artisans and young designers who share a common focus: observing the processes of transformation of earth, water, and matter as the starting point for their creative projects.
Site-specific work by Jonathan Bocca
This year, the organizers have entrusted the site-specific art project to the young sculptural designer Jonathan Bocca.
With “Linfa. The philosophy of wonder. ”, Jonathan Bocca transforms the Corsini Garden into an immersive journey inspired by the theme of wonder as a tool for discovery and knowledge. The installation takes the form of a large organic shape, a sort of lifeblood that flows through the spaces of the palace and the garden, creating a dialogue between the past and the present. Through interventions that also incorporate several historic statues, the artist reinterprets the existing heritage from a contemporary perspective, blending art, design, and craftsmanship into a narrative that celebrates transformation and change.
An invitation for visitors to view our historical heritage with fresh eyes, in an ongoing dialogue between memory and the present.
Immersive Installation
by Michel Vecchi
The exhibition’s immersive experiences are enhanced by Bosco Sonoro by Michel Vecchi, a Land Art artist whose work explores the relationship between nature, transformation, and human perception. In the Orto delle Monache, 25 mushroom-shaped sculptures carved from fallen trees transform the space into a sensory landscape. Through a headphone experience, visitors are drawn into a suspended and intimate dimension, where sound quietly accompanies their discovery of the sculptures and their dialogue with the garden.

For 2026, the Galleria dell’Artigianato project presents the exhibition *Between Nature and Artifice*, with Jean Blanchaert serving as scientific curator and Studio La Vanguardia designing the exhibition layout. The event is organized by Artex as part of the Officina Creativa Lab project, promoted by the Region of Tuscany and the City of Florence in collaboration with CNA Toscana and Confartigianato Imprese Toscana.
The title refers to the relationship between the natural world—which is not man-made—and everything that humans transform into objects and products through a creative process: the artisan, the *artifex*, through his creative and technical skills, transforms natural raw materials into an artificial object that nevertheless continues to relate to nature in a dialectical and equal relationship.
La Grande Bellezza – The Dream Factory

This marks a grand return to Florence for this prominent artist, a leading figure in Faenza ceramics, who took part in the inaugural edition of ARTIGIANATO E PALAZZO thanks to her friendship with and the high regard in which Giorgiana Corsini held her.
Per l’esposizione in mostra la talentuosa maestra ha scelto opere dalla collezione Menadi, in majolica and pure gold, linked to the symbolic and mythological universe, featuring wheel-thrown vases—pure forms onto which sculptural elements in gold are set, evoking the female body and the drape of fabric; works from the collection Garofano – Faience Garden, made of white clay, display case, pure gold, inspired by a reflection on the theme of tradition as a living force, capable of transforming and regenerating itself over time; pieces from the collection Proserpina, inspired by the classical myth of the female deity and her symbolic connection to the pomegranate—an emblem of cyclicality, fertility, and transformation—this collection features a series of iconic objects dedicated to tableware and interior design. And finally, the works in the Survival collection—crafted from clay, glass, oxides, and gold—which stem from a profound reflection on nature’s resilience and its ability to endure the passage of time, withstand adversity, and continue to generate beauty.
The exhibition is part of the initiatives associated with the project *La Grande Bellezza. The Dream Factory by Starhotels*, organized in collaboration with the Cologni Foundation and Gruppo Editoriale to support Italian high-end artistic craftsmanship.
and the Perseo Award - Fondazione CR Firenze
The Fondazione CR Firenze is participating in ARTIGIANATO E PALAZZO with the exhibition “RECREOS a Palazzo,” which features a selection of the winners of the Recreos Call for Proposals, an initiative dedicated to the revitalization of artisanal crafts on Via Palazzuolo in Florence, promoted by the Foundation itself. This is yet another showcase that highlights contemporary craftsmanship and strengthens the link between artisanal traditions, urban regeneration, and the cultural development of the local area. On this occasion, the businesses set to open their workshops on the street this fall will be announced.
In addition, the Fondazione CR Firenze, which has long been committed to promoting the arts and crafts, supports the event and reinforces its commitment through the “Premio Perseo – Fondazione CR Firenze,” awarded to the booth most appreciated by the public via a special voting form distributed to all visitors during the exhibition.

"Sister Intingola's Recipes"

The afternoon segment of “Ricette di Famiglia, ” hosted by Annamaria Tossani, is dedicated to Albinia Lucarelli Becevello—known as “Suor Intingola”—Gabriele D’Annunzio’s longtime cook and a central figure in the domestic life of the Vittoriale.
Through the extensive collection of letters preserved at the Vittoriale—more than 2,000 messages in which the poet shared his wishes, requests, and culinary curiosities with her—the story of a unique personal and professional relationship comes to life, one built on affection, trust, and a deep passion for cooking.
The event explores the recipes, flavors, and culinary traditions of D’Annunzio’s table, featuring presentations by Maddalena Santeroni, author and scholar (Friday, September 11), and Federico D’Annunzio, the poet’s great-grandson (Saturday, September 12, and Sunday, September 13), with actress Maria Cassi reading some of the poet’s most intriguing messages.
At the end of the event, the audience will be able to sample some of Sister Intingola and the Vate’s favorite dishes, served on “Ricette di Famiglia” plates created by Bitossi Home.
: An Exhibition Space for Young Artisans
Gathered in the “Next Generation” space, the young artisans selected by ARTIGIANATO E PALAZZO describe their work as an evolving process, in which the material serves as a starting point for independent and constantly transforming creative journeys. These diverse experiences unfold across workshops, studios, and varied cultural contexts, yet they are united by the ability to reinterpret traditional techniques and knowledge through a personal and contemporary lens.
Among them are Ozio Piccolo Studio Tessile by Simone Falli, a weaver and designer who works on handmade wooden looms using natural yarns and plant-based dyes; Eremōns by Chen Yueting and Xu Weidong, a studio based in both China and Italy that reinterprets the motifs of Guizhou’s ethnic minorities to foster intercultural dialogue; Lapo Giusti, a ceramicist who explores crystalline glazes on stoneware and porcelain to create one-of-a-kind pieces; Tommaso Maselli, a craftsman and restorer dedicated to the conservation of works of art using traditional techniques learned in his family’s workshop, which has been active in Florence since 1955; and Kimberly Bárcenas Hernández, an artist-craftswoman who creates sgraffito murals that engage with architecture and materials, blending Mexican and European traditions.

Our commitment to social inclusion continues thanks to the support of the Waldensian Church’s “Otto per Mille” funds , which this year once again make it possible for organizations that use craftsmanship as a tool for training, integration, and empowerment to participate in the exhibition. The participating workshops will be able to display and sell their creations, as well as engage with the public through live demonstrations and workshops.
This initiative is part of the project “Crafts That Unite, Crafts That Include, ” promoted by the Giardino Corsini Association to foster the creation of networks and opportunities among initiatives that share the values of social inclusion through craftsmanship.
Among the organizations participating in the exhibition: the Alice Cooperative in Milan, which, through tailoring workshops—including those held in prisons—promotes programs aimed at fostering independence and reintegration for vulnerable women; the social cooperative FLO Conceptoperating in Florence since 2010, it uses fashion as a tool to foster inclusion and independence among people facing economic, social, or psychological challenges.a; Community Garden APS, born out of a collaboration between the Gaetano Barberi Cooperative and Orti Dipinti, where working with terracotta becomes an opportunity for inclusion and personal growth; the social cooperative Solco Libertas through the LaVergata and Filalalana projects, two social and vocational centers in the Bolognese Apennines that foster skills and creativity through artisan bookbinding and woolworking; and Progress Association, which operates at the Juvenile Detention Center in Florence, where art serves as a tool for self-expression, personal growth, and reintegration.
Some members of the ARTIGIANATO E PALAZZO Organizing Committee will serve as mentors to the associations, supporting them throughout the exhibition.
In addition to the“Perseo Award – Fondazione CR Firenze,” there is also the“Giorgiana Corsini Award,” presented by the Organizing Committee to the stand designed with the greatest care, which will offer the winner the opportunity to have a free booth at the 2027 edition. And the“Italian Excellence” Award from EGGroup Italy, which is presented each year by the winner of the previous edition.
A rich program of free talks and workshops open to visitors rounds out the 2026 Exhibition, held daily in the Rose Garden and the Nuns’ Garden:

- Decorative arts workshops, wickerwork, tailoring
- Guided Tours of the Corsini Garden and Its Arboretum
"Abbraccia la Loggia del Buontalenti"
Fundraising 2025
This edition marks the conclusion of the fundraising campaign to restore the architectural masterpiece of Palazzo Corsini — the 17th-century Loggia del Buontalenti— which has been designated a “monumental asset” to be protected and preserved.Once the work is complete, the Corsini Garden will be open to the public free of charge, in accordance with the terms of an agreement to be signed subsequently with the relevant authorities.
To support the “Embrace the Buontalenti Loggia” campaign, the organizers have enlisted Anglo-Norwegian artist Magnus Gjoen, who has created a limited-edition, collectible series of snow globes (Ø 10 cm), inspired by late Renaissance and Baroque motifs.
